Children’s charity Mentor Link has securing funding from the government backed Careers & Enterprise Company’s Investment Fund, which will allow it to extend its mentoring programme to support young people in Ross-on-Wye, and across the wider Herefordshire area.

In total, the Careers and Enterprise Company awarded more than £3.5million to 39 employer mentoring programmes across the country.

The funding will target those students who are about to start their GCSEs in Years 8, 9 and 10 but are at risk of disengaging from education. The charity is asking schools and the local business community to contact them for further information about this exciting new project.

Mentor Link will be collaborating with local partners, businesses and schools to give young people great life-changing experiences to get them inspired about the world of work.

CEO Andrea Maddocks told the Ross Gazette: “If you would like to volunteer to help inspire the younger generation about the world of work we would love to hear from you.”
