Following the recent Ofsted inspection of Ross Preschool Playgroup, Ross-on-Wye, the nursery has now received the formal report which confirms the excellent care shown to all the children attending the group.

Ofsted noted that the staff and committee work together to address the continual development of the playgroup. The inspector also found that the high standard of care and support means that parents speak highly of the staff and say they are pleased with their child’s progress since joining the playgroup. The children are happy and content and demonstrate a positive attitude to learning as they build close bonds with staff and are settled.

The inspector was impressed by the way the group supported children with specific learning needs, which provided very good continuity in children’s care and learning.

Vicki Page, the manager, is delighted with the Ofsted report. She said: “We believe this report is evidence of the commitment and kind, caring work by every member of playgroup staff”.

Mrs Joyce Thomas, who founded the playgroup nearly 50 years ago, and is still very much involved, congratulated Vicki Page, her deputy Dawn Ridge and the staff for their hard work and dedication to the children which is reflected in this Ofsted report.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
