Erupting volcanoes, noisy pots of slime and even a plasticine model of the common cold virus were all on show at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School on Thursday, October 18th.

Year 4 and 5 children had the opportunity to become real scientists and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of specific topics at the school’s Science Fair.

Families were invited to come along and see the fabulous three-dimensional displays that the children had created to illustrate the area of Science that they had explored. There was a great variety of information on show including NASA launch-pads, and a model showing the working respiratory system of a horse.

The children thoroughly enjoyed working on their displays and then showing them off at the fair. The pupils were able to talk about their findings and how they had created their displays with real enthusiasm and knowledge. Younger pupils and parents enjoyed the opportunities to experience real science in action.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
