Looking at the smiling faces of the young people filling the school hall at John Kyrle High School on Thursday, August 13th, headteacher Nigel Griffiths told the Ross Gazette: “This is what we are here for.”

As he watched the students open their envelopes containing their A-level results he said: “This is what everything we do at John Kyrle leads up to.” For many of the students it confirmed that they would be able to make a start on the next stage of their lives, by pursuing their first choice of university course.

And for the third consecutive year John Kyrle students gained their highest ever results at A Level. The school’s results, gained from one of its largest cohorts to date, included 88% at A*-C and a 99.75% pass rate.
