Students and staff at John Kyrle High School and Sixth Form Centre are celebrating after being officially ranked in the top 2% of sixth forms across England.

The school received the news following the release of latest Key Stage 5 data by the Government at the end of last year. This was then analysed by ALPS, which compares and reviews data across the education sector, which found that JKHS’s results stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the very best schools in the country.

Nigel Griffiths, Headteacher, said: “This is fantastic news. When we received the notification we were so, so proud.

“What is most pleasing is that this data isn’t based on a snapshot of just one year. It looks back over a number of years, and reflects that fact that our students achieve year in, year out.”

In each of the past six years over 60% of students at JKHS have earned A*-B at A Level, with many students going on to study at some of the top universities in the country.

Mr Griffiths added: “While the accolades are pleasing, it is the fact that JKHS’s young people go on to achieve remarkable things in their further education and employment that drives us on. We believe that they are a jewel in the crown of our community.”

The school is currently welcoming applications for the 2020 academic year. If you would like to find out more about John Kyrle Sixth Form, then please visit https://www.jkhs.org.uk/welcome
