John Kyrle High School has recently added another award to its collection; the local NCS (National Citizenship Service) scheme provider APM has awarded the school ‘champion’ status. This recognises the promotion, and the subsequent good take-up, of the once-in-a-lifetime part-residential experience open to all 15 to 17-year-olds.
Nick Wardale, Head of Year 11, told the Ross Gazette:?“We are very pleased to receive this accolade for the school’s promotion of good citizenship. I’m confident that even more of our Year 11 students will take advantage of the NCS scheme.”
The programme helps young people build skills for work and life whilst taking on exciting challenges, making new friends and contributing to their community, as part of a wider focus upon British Values.
NCS helps young people to grow in confidence, make UCAS statements stand out, develop the skills employers want, enhance their CV, meet amazing people and access exclusive events.
