Children in years two and three at Lea Primary School have been finding out about newspapers to enhance their literacy learning. They have also been working on writing their own newspaper reports.

On Tuesday, March 9th, the children received a surprise visit from a Ross Gazette reporter, who was visiting the World Book Day wooden spoon competition winners. She popped into their classroom and answered the children’s newspaper-related questions.

Headteacher, Sally-Anne Vines said: “It was lovely that Miss Holly Clack, one of the reporters at the Ross Gazette, was able to spend some time in their class, answering questions about her role at the Gazette and the process she goes through to bring a report to publication.”
