As part of Health and Fitness Week at Much Birch Primary School, the staff and pupils welcomed Charlie Watkins from Halo Gym in Hereford to give an assembly about keeping active.

As a school, the staff and pupils at Much Birch already enjoy walking a mile a day on the school field to encourage everyone to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Charlie, who works at the Leisure Pool, and is also a Gym Instructor and a Personal Trainer, taught the children about what exercises you can practice in and out of the gym, why people go to the gym, and how you can stay more active.

The pupils enjoyed trying out new exercises, including press-ups, burpees, and squats, and many commented on how much they enjoy swimming and cycling.

To support the message that Charlie was sharing and to encourage healthy living, Halo have donated prizes for one of the Primary School’s competitions, which includes free family passes and free individual passes to use the facilities at Halo.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
