This season John Kyrle’s U15 girls’ rugby team will be far more noticeable, not just for their endeavour on the rugby field, but also, thanks to a new team strip, courtesy of Dean Gas Services Ltd.

Headteacher, Nigel Griffiths invited Mr and Mrs Powell from the company into school this week to thank them for their support. They saw the team in their new shirts and joined Mr Griffiths and Claire Godwin, PE teacher, for lunch.

The U15 team is currently the North Midlands U15 Schools champions and the girls are hoping to defend their title later on this term. The girls have remained unbeaten since September and are hoping to continue their run of success in their upcoming matches this season.

John Kyrle is currently planning its biennial international sports tour which will take place in South Africa in 2019. The current rugby team will form a key part of this tour.
