Garway Primary School governors, staff and children are over the moon with the outcome of their recent Ofsted inspection which judged the school as ‘Outstanding’ for Personal development, behaviour and welfare and also for the Early Years provision.
Headteacher Julie Jones said that the inspection, which took place in June, confirmed what parents and the community already knew about the school: that the ethos, based on promoting enjoyment in learning and respect for all, permeates the life of the school.
She told the Ross Gazette “The whole school community is so pleased that we have been judged as a ‘Good’ school, with many outstanding areas. We are committed to developing pupils’ basic skills within a broad and rich curriculum and this was recognised during the inspection. We will continue to promote excellence through a varied and exciting curriculum, both inside and outdoors. Already this term we have welcomed a Space Ambassador from the European Space Educational Resources Office (ESERO) who led a day of workshops and activities about our British Astronaut, Tim Peake, his mission, and how we may look for life on other planets.”
With a Pre-school on site and wrap around care from 8:00 to 4:30 daily, Garway School is a great option for working parents.
Ms Jones added “We would encourage anyone who might be interested in a small school where achievement, hard work and individuality are celebrated, to come and see us on our Open Morning, on Wednesday, October 12th from 9am to 11.30am.”
