Ashfield Park Primary School hosted a Physics afternoon on Friday, June 29th, which focused on the science behind the flight of rockets.

Dr Simon Rhodes, of the Ogden Trust (a charitable trust founded by Sir Peter Ogden in 1999 which ‘promotes the teaching and learning of physics’), led the afternoon for 20 children along with parents and carers.

The children first revisited their understanding of gravity and air resistance, before moving on to design a rocket to be launched with compressed air. Everyone who was there remained highly engaged throughout, and the pupils left with an even stronger enthusiasm towards Science.

Primary Schools in attendance included: Ashfield Park, Goodrich CofE, Brampton Abbotts CofE and Bridstow CofE.
