On Thursday, March 17th, over 70 children and adults from Brampton Abbotts travelled to the Noor Mosque in Gloucester to find out more about how British Muslims worship.

The trip was run to offer a first hand experience to the children as part of the RE Curriculum, although it also fulfilled objectives necessary to learn about British Values and Citizenship. Imam Hussan was most welcoming and entertaining as he explained the main aspects of Muslim faith and worship.

The children, who ranged in age from four to 11, were a credit to their school as they listened carefully, and asked some very thought-provoking questions.

On Friday, March 18th, year 4 visited the Easter Experience at St Mary’s Church in Ross-on-Wye, in order to understand more about Christian Easter customs and would like to express their thanks to the volunteers who made the experience most interesting.

On Thursday, term will culminate in an Easter Service for the whole Brampton Abbotts community before the much needed Easter holidays.

Mr Dan Brearey, headteacher at Brampton Abbotts told The Ross Gazette "Both visits this week celebrate the unique diversity we currently have in Modern Britain. Our pupils have had a really great opportunity to learn more about the breadth of faith locally. This reflects our ethos of inclusion and understanding here at Brampton Abbotts. We have been very proud of our children and how they have sought to further understand differences and similarities between cultures and religions this week."
