Year 10 students at John Kyrle High School were lucky enough to receive a visit from a serving Police Officer. PC Mollie Grice talked to students about her role as a serving officer, as well as her previous work within Special Branch and Counter-Terrorism.
This talk interconnected with the History GCSE topic, Crime and Punishment, where students are expected to analyse the changes in policing over the last 200 years. Students felt the talk “really clarified the progression of the police force over time” and that “the role of a modern day police officer was really informative.” In addition to this, Year 10 students were able to find out about the recruitment process for a career within the police. Students who are interested in this career path said they were “amazed at the variety of careers that are available within the police.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
