To mark Internet Safety week, students at JKHS have been encouraged to really think about their own personal safety when online, particularly with regard to sharing of personal photographs; the dangers of sexting; various forms of cyber bullying and strategies to prevent it, and the potential impact of these areas on mental wellbeing.
As part of the ongoing focus in this area, the school council have also recently developed the JKHS Digital Wellbeing Charter - advice and guidance to help ensure young people are safe, sensible and discerning on line.
JKHS students were extremely positive about the guidance they receive about staying safe online.
One Year 11 student told the Gazette: “We are always being reminded about staying safe in what we do online and how to make good decisions.”
