Patrick Cameron, world-renowned long hair specialist, visited Herefordshire and Ludlow College this week to demonstrate styles from his Goddess range and 2018 collection.
Hosted by Aston and Fincher, the event attracted employers from all over the surrounding counties as well as the college’s keen hairdressing students and apprentices.
Rebecca Carwardine, from Hereford-based salon Rebel Rock, who has previously trained with the highly-respected Sam McKnight hair commented, “Patrick has been one my idols for years, it is great to see him here. It isn’t so much the hair itself, it is all his little tips, the little things you learn each time.”
Rebel Rock also employs one of the College’s hair apprentices, Chloe Edwards and added, “Chloe is an amazing apprentice, she has that passion for hair that you need for a career in this industry.”
Whilst creating the six styles of the evening, Patrick Cameron spoke to the audience about what he wanted them to learn from the evening, “I want you to focus on the texture and the concept of these right-on-point styles.”
Having spent over 30 years in the industry, he is a champion of industry education, with his books and DVDs being a household name for most stylists. He spoke directly to the student section of the audience, “Once you get your craft, no one can take that away from you. Take your trade and get yourself out there. You need to love your job. It is so important. Be passionate about hair but also people as well.”
