Rebecca Davies, is facing an anxious week as her two-year-old daughter is undergoing tests on January 4th for an undiagnosed condition.
Her daughter has had incidents of fitting and no-one is yet sure what causes it.
This happened recently in the Costa coffee shop in Ross-on-Wye.
On Saturday, December 16th an ambulance was called and the defibrillator was fetched from the box in Market Place.
As reported in last week’s Ross Gazette it was not used as it was not needed. A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told the newspaper that the ambulance was called to a report that a child had fallen off a chair.
Rebecca told the Ross Gazette that was not the case, she said it was not something that happened because she was not paying attention to her daughter. She said I would hate anyone reading the report to think I was not looking after my daughter, she was just walking across the coffee shop when she fell to the floor, fitting, this lasted for eight minutes and she was unconscious for 20.
Rebecca praised the staff at Costa and said she was very grateful for everything they did on the day.
However, she was not happy at the way she was treated by Hereford Hospital who said her daughter only had a sore throat which did not require her to stay in hospital. Rebecca told the Gazette that she felt that her daughter should have been kept in for observation as she is so worried about it happening again.
