FOLLOWING on with their rich vein of form Ross CC U11s claimed another win in emphatic style on Sunday July 4th as they entertained Wormelow U11s at home. Choosing to bat first, Ross piled on the runs from the first ball, Billy Kibble blasted quick 25, Lizzie Jeffryes played a disciplined (9) anchoring one end whilst Sam Quinlan (19*) and Angus MacIntyre (23*) came in with their customary flamboyant shots, putting the fielding team in all sorts of trouble.
In reply a quick wicket from Owen John (3-0-10-1) and tight bowling including two maiden overs from George Nicholson (3-2-2-0) thwarted the attack from Wormelow. A further wicket from Callum Macintosh (3-0-7-1) and a run out assisted by Konrad Hohdendorf kept the run rate down.
Spirited batting from the Wormelow boys showed defiance but neither looked like taking control with Ross showing excellent fielding skills, newcomer Jamie Milnes showed good hands and co-ordination in the deep, with the support bowling by Morgan Nelson (2-0-8-0) and Nathan Powell (3-0-19-0) keeping up the pressure right up to the last over. Ross run out as convincing winners for the third week in a row. Ross U11s - 135 for 3, Wormelow U11s - 88 for 3.
