Thieves spoilt a Ross tradition when they took a number of items, including a newly purchased model lamb, from the crib at St Mary's Church, Ross.

Visitors to St Mary's would normally expect to see a scene with figures depicting Mary and Joseph, and the animals in the stable, in the days before Christmas. Sadly this year because of a number of thefts the crib was empty until just before Christmas.

There is usually a display in St Mary's during Advent which highlights aspects of the Christmas story and which acts as a focus for prayer. This year the display went up on December 1st but over a period of three weeks four items were stolen from it.
