EIGHTEEN years after the Community Resource Centre, based at the Larruperz Centre in Ross-on-Wye, opened its doors to help members of the community with office technology it will close at the end of the month.

This is due to declining demand for its services. There will be a clearance sale on Saturday, September 30th between 10am and 4pm of miscellaneous surplus stationery and office equipment.

The organisers are very grateful to their customers, the Community Association and members of the Larruperz staff for all their support over 18 years – well beyond the original ten years envisaged at the outset. In that time they are proud to have had almost 1000 individuals, small businesses and community groups make use of the training and computer facilities. These have been used for projects as diverse as researching genealogy, cataloguing war memorials, scanning historical photographs and records.

They have also helped produce programmes and posters for local businesses, events and theatrical productions, greeting cards and newsletters for a wide variety of local interest groups. The book ‘A Brief History of the Larruperz’ was also typeset and produced at the resource centre.

Finally, the organisers would also like to thank the many volunteers without whose time and dedication the centre would not have been able to offer such a wide range of skills and services.
