A newly-formed committee are organising a family fun day at Walford Village Hall, near Ross-on-Wye, on Monday, August 29.

The group is appealing for help from the community to make the event a success. Their on the lookout for stall holders to run traditional family games, as well as entertainers and youth and community groups. These might include dancers, bands, and performers to take part in the day, which runs from 11am to 4pm.

Businesses and organisations are also invited to showcase local produce such as sweets, confectionery, cakes, drinks, plants, flowers, artwork, jewellery, and crafts, toys, books and hand-made or home-made gifts.

The village hall’s recently re-launched a committee aims to revive the hall and build its profile. The hall is a non-profit charity and organisers are keen to use the hall to serve the local community, offering a wide range of classes, entertainment and a meeting place for the community.

Trustee Anthony Jones said: “The village fun day is being organised to bring people together for a great day of fun and, at the same time, raise the profile of our village hall.”
