A vintage toy exhibition is being presented by Whitchurch and Ganarew Local History Society, following their successful 1960s era exhibition last year.

It’s at the Memorial Hall, Whitchurch on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday July 3, from 10am to 4pm.

It will include Victorian era toys right up to the 1980s. Organisers hope to include the Ferris wheel which is currently in the window of a shop in Monmouth. There are also plans to showcase a Davos sled from 1930, a rocking horse, a 1940s tricycle, as well as many dolls throughout the period, together with several fully furnished dolls houses. Additionally, there will be puppets, teddy bears, construction toys, robots, soldiers, model cars, board games, and outdoor games. It is an interactive exhibition which hopes to have something for everyone.

Organisers have enlisted the help of The Forest of Dean Model Railway Club to assist, and will have trains running on tracks.

There is a charge of £2 entry for adults but accompanied children will enter free-of-charge. There are no card services so visitors are asked to bring cash. Refreshments and retro toys will be on sale.
