John Kyrle High School art students are using their art to express their views on the environment. Whilst they are refining the technical aspects of their craft, they also use their art to express issues close to them.

Hazel Needham Church, Ellie Stevens, Bez Etherington, Harper Keeler, Ruby Colburn, and Alf Steward demonstrate their use of acrylic, watercolour, even coffee and poly-filler to created intricate and stunning pieces which express Gen Z’s concerns about polluting the ocean with single use plastics and the harm that’s doing to the wildlife. Whilst a number of their pieces might present a pleasant first impression, many have layers of complexity expressing how we as a society obfuscate our environmental harms.
