Roadworks are currently taking place on the junction where Gloucester Road meets Chase Road, in Ross-on-Wye, and multi-way traffic lights are in place to deal with the traffic.

Balfour Beatty are working to resurface the footway and replace the damaged kerbs.

The work began on Tuesday, 26th February and is expected to finish on Friday, March 8th.

Herefordshire Council have said that ‘delays are possible’.

A local resident contacted the Ross Gazette to express his concerns that the footpath is completely closed, and wanted to warn other pedestrians that the only area they can walk in next to the site is in the road. He said: “This is dangerous for people walking, especially if people have children or prams.”A spokesperson for Herefordshire Council said: "Pedestrian safety arrangements are in place at Gloucester Road/Chase Road. Pedestrians are being marshalled around the work when lorries are present and a temporary walkway around the works is available at other times. The safety of our workers and the public is our priority at all times.”
