Local residents will be able to make use of the Household Recycling Centre in Ross-on-Wye for four days a week permanently following a trial of extended opening hours earlier this year.
A decision was made on October 2nd by officers at Herefordshire Council that the Household Recycling Centre would retain opening four days per week as there had been sufficient demand. The officers said: "Extended opening reflects demand for the service in Ross on Wye, which has the third greatest annual use for Herefordshire’s recycling centres and has the highest number of users per open day."
There is sufficient budget to fund this change through the joint waste
disposal arrangements with Worcestershire County Council.
Officers also reported that additional opening over a trial period reduced queuing vehicles out on to the busy Station Approach, which the site is located adjacent to.
