Citizens Advice Herefordshire, are pleased to annouce the reopening of its Outreach service in Ross on Wye at its new venue in The Larruperz Centre

From Tuesday, May 18, following the lifting of some of the national Covid restrictions, staff will be able to see clients face to face again, after more than a year of having to work from home due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The service will be in a socially distanced environment, following Coronoavirus health and safety guidelines to keep clients, staff and volunteers protected.

Sonya Gregory, Advice Services Manager for Citizens Advice Herefordshire said: “There are many problems facing people that are now becoming more urgent as we come out of lockdown. Housing evictions that had been paused in the courts will recommence, the government furlough scheme will come to and end, which may lead to more people losing their jobs and we are seeing an increase in debt collection activities too.”

Citizens Advice Herefordshire’s dedicated and experienced advisers will be able to provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice on a range of issues including debt, benefits, housing, employment and family issues that can affect all our lives.

Sonya Gregory also said: “It has been a difficult year for everyone, but for many of the most vulnerable in the community, the economic and social impact of Coronavirus leave many in a crisis situation that they need help to resolve.

‘‘Countywide outreach centres are invaluable for meeting the needs of a rural county like Herefordshire, particularly for those who cannot access our services in Hereford city. We are committed to developing our services across the county to ensure more people can get the advice they need”.

The service in Ross on Wye has been made possible with the support of funding from Ross on Wye Town Council. Gwen Fraser, Volunteer Operations and Training Manager, will organising the new Ross on Wye service.
