Residents at Ross Court Care Home recently welcomed some furry friends to visit when ‘Cats for Comfort’ came along to meet everybody.
They brought along five of their Maine Coon cats for the Ross residents to hold and stroke. The breed originated in America and are sweet-tempered with silky coats.
A spokesperson for Ross Court said: “All of the cats were very well behaved and residents loved having them sit on their laps. Our new feline friends all had fabulous names including Edwin Lovebug and Louis Alexander!”
The cats visited residents in their bedrooms and resident Helen was delighted to spend time with Monty on her lap as it reminded her of when she owned her own cat.
One resident, Madge, said: “They are so soft and I loved feeling their fur under my fingertips, it was magic.”
Magic Moments Club Coordinator, Clare, said: “It was lovely watching the way our residents were smiling and chatting away to their new feline friends.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
