The Fabulous Felters, who meet every Tuesday morning at the Tudorville Community Centre (TDCC) have finished their most recent project; creating bunting which exhibits some of Ross’ best known features, including the philanthropist John Kyrle, the horseshoe bend in the river, and St Mary’s Church, set in front of a beautiful sunset.
The course, Felt Alive, has been organised by Herefordshire Council, as a part of their Adult Community Learning programme.
The emphasis of the classes is to promote wellbeing and health, and to tackle isolation. Felt is used as a medium for forging connections.
In the Fabulous Felters, the age range is a diverse one. The youngest member of the group is 21, and the eldest is in her 80s.
The group gathered on Tuesday, June 7th to show-off their finished bunting. This will be hung in TDCC for the forseeable future. Absent from the group photo are Bridie Hall, Claire Punnett, Gussie Stevens and Ann Glyde.
