A female cyclist has died after a collision with a car.

The incident happened at about 7.35pm on Friday, September 28th on the B4224 between Fownhope and Mordiford.

An ambulance, a paramedic officer and two BASICS Emergency Doctors from the Mercian Accident Rescue Scheme were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found an off-duty doctor and nurse tending to the female cyclist. Ambulance staff carried out advanced life support at the scene, but sadly, it was not possible to save the woman and she was confirmed dead at the scene. There were no other injuries.”

The road was closed for a number of hours while emergency services attended the scene.
