The Festive season got off to a bright start on Friday when crowds gathered in the Market Place to see the Mayor present the winners of the competition for a poem to go on the front of his Christmas cards. Then Peppa Pig flicked the switch to turn the lights on the Christmas tree. On Sunday a variety of stalls selling food and crafts, as well as Moses the Donkey and some baby reindeer, attracted shoppers to the annual Christmas Shopping Festival. There was plenty of music including the choir, pictured above, which was joined by members of the X-entricity Theatre Group in their Christmas costumes.
