At the age of 17, Scott Lea was struggling with depression and moved from his Monmouth home to London. Despite having close family in Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye, where he regularly rowed at Ross Rowing Club alongside his cousins, he felt that his dreams of becoming a film producer were not being taken seriously.
Now he is fundraising to get his first short film produced.
Called Comfort Call, the action is based in London and deals with how a minor incident can quickly escalate into something more serious.
Scott’s experiences of living in London made him realise how this can happen, but he told the Ross Gazette that the film has no relation to his own experiences.
He said that what he is keen to share with people is that it is possible to achieve your dreams if you are determined. The shooting will take place over three days at the end of May, and Scott would love to hear from anyone who could help support their venture.
