ON Sunday May 30th in beautifully sunny conditions at Wormelow Cricket Club, the Ross and Wormelow U15 teams put on a fine display of cricket with both sides scoring freely. Ross were put in and started well with a high run rate. Joe Tumelty led the way with some fine ground stroke play before retiring (53*). Ben Robbins kept momentum flowing with a quick fire, hard hitting (50*) retired.
The Ross middle order pushed the scoreboard along to finish on a creditable 205 for 4 off their allotted 30 overs.
Wormelow batted confidently and their top order proved an equal match to Ross. Good performances from C. Omelasz (45), G. Lancaster (50*) retired and S. Westcott (47*) kept Wormelow in the race.
Boundaries were flowing freely and for a period it looked like Wormelow would reach the target. However a couple of vital wickets falling to Elliot Davies in the 27th over managed to stall the Wormelow attack and put the target just out of reach.
Wormelow finished on 188 for 5. A great display from both sides. Ross U15s won by 17 runs.
