ROSS thirds travelled to Kington with only ten men on June 4th knowing they were going to have to work hard to win the match.

Although they lost the toss, they took the field in good spirits. Although Kington scored fairly freely, Ross managed to get some early wickets, but it took until there were only two balls remaining for Ross to bowl Kington out, for which they earned five points.

In the second innings Ross started well but then lost a few quick wickets. It was number 6, Charlie Davies' day and he stayed in for the rest of the innings, partnering Jack Casstles (33) and Rob Casstles, Rob George and Ben Element. Josh Element came in next and stayed at the crease allowing Davies to score 75 not out. Good calling and impressive shot selection between the pair enabled Ross to win the match with over 12 overs to go.

Ross were delighted as this was the first win of the season. Pick of the Ross bowlers were: David Skyrme (10-1-30-2), Jack Casstles (10-1-16-5), Ben Element (3-0-4-1). Their next fixture is at home on Saturday, June 11th, when they look forward to playing Brockhampton CC.
