A heavy downpour caused flash flooding in Brookend Street this afternoon, August 30th. At about 4.15pm heavy rain caused a deluge of water to flow down Brookend Street filling the drains and overflowing onto the pavement. Vehicles had to slow down to pass in front of Aldi supermarket to avoid creating a wash.

Staff from the Polish supermarket had to sweep water back into the road to avoid it entering the building.
