Mike Dawes has been tying flies for fishing since he was a young boy and while for many people it is a fascinating hobby, Mike has turned it into a career. He supplies high quality flies to salmon and trout fishermen and he wrote the definitive guide to fly tying in 1985.

He wrote a book The Flytiers Manual, which went on to become a best seller, it won 'Book of the Year' in America and is now printed in nine languages. This was followed two years later by the equally successful book The Flytiers Companion.

His company International Fly, which is based in Ross, produces the highest quality salmon, sea-trout and trout flies which it supplies all over the world.

At the recent trade show for the angling community in Budapest, the magazine, Angling International, which included an article about Mike's new venture, was given to every one of the hundreds of visitors.

As the article states, this Herefordshire company, "is expanding its horizons, quite literally, as the UK agency for a fast-growing South African safari-style tours business."
