Everything came together for the members of the Association of Ross Traders when they decided to revive the traditional Ross pancake races on Shrove Tuesday. The day fell during the schools' half term which meant that lots of families were able to take part and the sun shone on the gathered crowds as they watched the races and cheered on the competitors.

Dozens of people registered to take part, including young children and there were several relay teams, there were quite a few dropped pancakes. Former Councillor and hotelier Bill Walby held the finishing tape as he had done when Ross staged pancake races back in the 1980s.
