River levels remain high and are rising at the Ross-on-Wye and Mordiford river gauges as a result of recent rainfall. Consequently, flooding is expected to continue. Flooding is affecting properties and roads in and around Ross, including the Wilton area.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours which may cause river levels to continue to rise and remain high into the week.
Predicted peaks:
Ross-on-Wye 4.5 to 5.0m by the evening of February 25th.
Mordiford 4.9 to 5.4m on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 25th.
Herefordshire Council have advised: “Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers.”
