DISASTER struck for a Ross Junior player during a league match at the weekend and he had to be air lifted to hospital.
This weekend Ross Juniors prepared themselves for what, on paper, seemed to be their toughest test since forming at the beginning of this season. They were due to play an away HFA (Hereford Football Association) Sunday cup tie in Madley against the Red Lion Massive, who are currently competing in the division above Juniors.
All was going well until the 75th minute when Matt Hall challenged one of the opposition's biggest players. The awkward angle of contact resulted in a broken leg for the Junior's star.
Hall knew instantly that his leg was broken and calmly stated: "it's gone," as he fell to the ground. After around 30 minutes the ambulance arrived providing Matt with much required and well received pain relief and he was then airlifted to hospital.
Due to the nature of the injury and the time taken to get Matt the help he needed, the game was abandoned with Juniors 3-2 down. The game is now waiting to be rescheduled.
Everyone at the club would like to wish Matt a speedy recovery and thank all those involved in helping get Matt comfortable and get the help as quickly as possible.
