Madam, During the period preceding, during and after the, still not fully explained, closure of the Ross residential home, The Chestnuts, I was not slow in using these columns to voice the opinions of myself and those I worked with. At the time many rumours were circulating, including the idea that the home would be sold off as a building plot to ease the Council's financial burdens. This, of course, was strongly denied. Recently we have heard of furniture being removed from the building, to be sold we presume. Now, this week we see a sign has gone up offering for sale 'The Chestnuts, a former nursing home, with redevelopment potential'.

What can I say but "no comment".

Michael Field, Ross
