MADAM, Thank you for allowing me to publicise events at the Vine Tree Inn, which is all I did in your publication. Thank you also for allowing the publicans to comment. Unfortunately I believe that there are glaring errors in their account. Also thanks for covering the letter from Mr Jenkinson. All of these kept the matter in the public domain, my only desire in your publication.
In her interview, Wendy stated that I have not been in the pub for four years. They know that it has been less than half that, of which I have evidence, but that does not suit their argument. She also says that they saved the pub. Wrong, if the good people of Ross and Tudorville had not protested at the previous owner's attempts to convert the site to housing, there would not have been a pub for them to run.
When these publicans took on the pub, it was very popular with locals, me included. You had to book in for one of the two sittings for Sunday lunch a week in advance; the pub was very busy (some still are). You must ask what has gone wrong.
The people of Ross and Tudorville still have the chance to save their local pub, should they so wish, the planning application is S122040F. Probably best to comment through the council's website.
Richard Pope, Tudorville
