The first Royal Dean Forest Cycling Club's time trial of the 2009 season, the Lydbrook 10, took place on Tuesday, April 21st.
Conditions were perfect for the select few who turned up to show off their winter training regimes. Andrew 'Coach' Freeman, whose idea it was to utilise the Heywood School Spin bikes through the winter, weighed in with an impressive personal best of 27mins 38secs. Paul Stephens (Ross & District CC) rode a 25mins 52secs again a great early season opener on the heavy tarmac between Lydbrook and Walford. Matt 'Chair' Heaman ran his personal best close with an impressive 24mins 59secs and was fastest on the night. Martin Green rode within 16 seconds of his personal best while mastering new aero bars, completing the 10 in 26mins 46secs. Dave Giles, of Berry Hill, completed the quintet with a solid start of 29mins 22secs.
