Fownhope's own community library now has an even bigger stock of maps and travel guides to help readers make the most of their holiday time.

The library has the largest collection of Explorer Active maps of any library in the area, providing detailed coverage for day trips and holidays as far afield as the South Downs to Cornwall, Wales, the Cotswolds and the Lake District, as well as the Brecon Beacons and the Wye Valley.

They've also got a wide selection of local travel guides including many walks guides, ideal companions to those all-weather laminated maps.

The library is run by, and for, the local community – and loans of books, maps, CDs and DVDs are free. So why not take a look - the library is open on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons in Faulkner House.
