UNDER the banner of Ross in Bloom, a programme of free creative activities for children and families are taking place during the February half-term break.

As part of the Ross-on-Wye Town Council initiative, families are being invited to attend the Larruperz Centre in Grammar School Close to enjoy a morning of arts and crafts in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

The sessions will be led by Sarah from The Art Studio Ross, offering a range of creative activities designed to inspire children and encourage imagination.

Each session will last two hours but parents, or carers, are expected to remain with their children for the duration.

Parents are also very welcome to join in and take part in the activities if they wish.

The activities will be themed around Ross in Bloom, with children contributing to a small amount of collaborative artwork that will be used within the town’s In Bloom projects, alongside items they can take home.

The time for each session is between 10am and noon and the session dates are: Monday, February 16 includes painting wooden shapes for decorative bunting and a colouring table for a booklet; on Wednesday, February 18 the session will include making story stones using story books for inspiration and paint cardboard shapes for use in bunting; on Friday, February 20 the session will be making flowers from recycled items and painting wooden shapes for decorative bunting along with making story stones.

Theses free drop-in sessions provide a great opportunity for families to spend time together, get creative during the school holidays and support local community projects.

This activity has been made possible through an award from the Small Sparks Fund.

This Fund, distributed by the Herefordshire Community Foundation, has been awarded from funding received by Herefordshire Council as part of the UK Shared prosperity Fund.
