Dear Editor,

I read with interest your article “Could Ross become the Town of Music” (published in the Gazette on April 19th).

The article does seem to centre on the older generation of town members.

Locally, there is a young 17-year-old who, along with his band Nycosia, are making huge headway in their pursuance of a musical career.

Granted, the music they perform is not to everyone’s taste but this young group of lads, who include Adam Barkley from Monmouth, are performing in venues up and down the country and have made several appearances in London.

The band are currently set to release their second EP imminently and are due to appear at UK Tech Metal Fest at Newark Showground in July.

This is a huge achievement for such a young band.

So although you will not hear them play in Ross, this is a local band making huge headway and forging their own path into music.

The band are Billy Kibble from Sellack, Adam Barkley, from Monmouth, Matt Ball and Ben Adams who both study at ACM Guildford.
