When on the run and taking part in the TV series, Hunted, Rob Ellington, a Social Media Content Creator from Wokingham and Ben Arrowsmith, working for a Pensions Firm in Reading, pitched up at The Kings Head Hotel in Ross-on-Wye.
Heading South, the pair were having to rely on the kindness of strangers for free accommodation and food. Using a credit or debit card would allow them to be traced by the team of Hunters who were searching for them.
Hotel owner, James Vidler, let them have a room for free for the night. In return, the Rob and Ben agreed to help as pot-washers.
Hunted is a reality series that features contestants who are instructed to go on the run for a period of 25 to 28 days in the UK, whilst avoiding a team of Hunters composed of former and serving police, intelligence personnel, and on-foot teams. Past Hunters have included an ex-military sniper and member of British Military Intelligence, and the former Head of Counter Terrorism Command.
Former Ross Town Councillor, Caroline Bennett, said: “This is brilliant, it brought a tear to my eyes. Those two lads are so sweet. Well done the Kings Head Hotel for such generosity.”
