Madam, Once more Councillors Cutter and Atkinson are to be congratulated for their efforts on our behalf. It cannot be easy being both Town and County Councillors – especially if we are to "not become a completely Hereford-centric county"!

However I am inclined to think that Councillor Atkinson's 'letter to the editor', asks more questions than it answers – particularly regarding the funding.

If the proposed plan uses existing land, does it mean that the school would lose more of its green areas? Where is this 'private land' that could be sold? If it is school property, surely that belongs to the Council.

£6,000,000 is a great deal of money and could buy a lot of land. It could also buy a lot of leisure facilities – what more could the town ask for? But if from a private source, why could the money not be spent anywhere in the town? The current site is ideal from everyone's point of view. Sell the 'private land', get a big bag of gold and spend it IN the town ... or do Mr Dewar's comments on ulterior motives have a ring of truth?

I do appreciate that, at the moment, this is only a proposal under consideration but these things have a way of just happening so we need to ask our Councillors to be very wary.
