MADAM, On behalf of Ross Community First Responders, I would like to thank once again Ross Rugby Football Club for their very generous donation of £300. This is a donation towards purchasing a fully equipped 4x4 vehicle solely for the use of Ross First Responders.

The Rugby Club's Christmas Draw was exceptional and attended by many, at the club's headquarters, The Drop Inn. The majority of the prizes were donated by local businesses, with Brian Harris giving many hours to make this event into such a huge success.

The Community First Responder Scheme is a volunteer group, whereby local people are trained by the Ambulance Service to respond to life threatening 999 calls in the town and all surrounding districts.

I am pleased to report that with pledges we are just about two thirds of the way to meeting our target and we are indebted to many individuals who have made a tremendous effort on our behalf. With the economic climate as it is, we know this coming year is going to be difficult in achieving our goal.

All kit has to be funded either personally by the volunteer or by local donations. To have the support of local businesses, clubs, groups and individuals, is essential to the continued success of the scheme. I thank you all.

Sue Watkins

Ross CFR Scheme Coordinator.
