There was an extra meeting of the full Ross Town Council on Monday, March 18th to approve the contractors who will be carrying out work at the Market House, which was built in the centre of Ross-on-Wye between 1650 and 1654.
Members of the Council recently agreed to a proposal put forward by the Policy and Management Committee to accept a Fee Proposal of £6,350 plus expenses plus VAT, to carry out RIBA Stages 5-6 and to engage a building services consultant to act as the CDM Principal Designer at a cost of £850.
The RIBA Plan of Work organises the process of briefing, designing, constructing and operating building projects into eight stages and details the tasks required at each stage.
RRA architects have tweeted to say that they are pleased to have been chosen to work with Ross Town Council on the Market House. They said: “We are delighted to announce that RRA have been appointed for the restoration project of the historic Market House, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire”.
The Ross Gazette invited them to discuss the work which is to be carried out but they have not responded as we went to press.
