Despite dancing the night away on Saturday, to great live music, including local bands, the BBC and Andy Margrett, and the headline act, the Rick Parfitt Junior Band, the Ross Ladies Rugby Club were dressed and ready to take part in the Jobefest Raft Race on Sunday.
Dressed as hula girls and life guards they climbed aboard their raft which was pulling an inflatable crocodile which was carrying even more intrepid rugby players.
Last year the Club only had four members taking part and crashed into a safety boat but this year their hopes were high as 18 members of their 29 strong squad climbed aboard the raft.
They were particularly keen to take part as one of their members has a child receiving treatment at Megan Baker House, just like Jobe Taylor-Davies, in whose name the event is organised. His father is also their rugby coach and lets them use one of his barns for winter training.
Two consultants who treated Jobe at Birmingham Children's Hospital took part in a Robin Reliant, and friends and work colleagues dressed as all kinds of characters with amazing rafts to take part. Abacus Nursery came as the Pink Ladies from the film Grease, there was an iceberg complete with penguins and even a pirate ship.
