They are part of a grant from the British Film Institute called the Neighbourhood Cinema Equipment Fund and have just been delivered to the hall.
“We are very pleased to receive the chairs,” Chairman, Ken Gort, told the Ross Gazette. “We hope that they will add to the enjoyment of Flicks in the Sticks, which has become a very popular monthly event at Goodrich Village Hall, and of course we will be able to use them for other functions. We are very grateful to the British Film Institute for their generous support.”
The next film to be shown, on Thursday, September 29th, will be Bridge of Spies. During the Cold War, an American lawyer is recruited to defend an arrested Soviet spy in court, and then help the CIA facilitate an exchange of the spy for the Soviet captured American U2 spy plane pilot, Francis Gary Powers.
The film stars Tom Hanks, Mark Rylance and Alan Alda.
Films shown at Goodrich Village Hall are played on the last Thursday of the month, from 7.30pm. It costs £5 to view the film. For more information about Flicks in the Sticks, call 01600 891249.
