Debbie Griffiths, who has been Service Manager for Ross Transport with the RVS for 13 years retired last week. She was thanked for her work and her support at the last meeting of the Lunch Club at the Ryefield Centre.

There will be more changes too, as in future the Club will be meeting at the Conservative Club in The Avenue, Ross-on-Wye.

Debbie told the Ross Gazette:?“It is a shame things have to change but we will still enjoy being together. We will go onwards and upwards together.”

Many of the guests who enjoy the lunch have been attending for many years, the idea is to help people who could not normally get out, to have a good meal and a social time.

Lynne Drabble, one of the RVS stalwarts who organises the Club said she was very sad that this was the last event at the Ryefield Centre. She said:?“I came here to school then I helped my in-laws Frank and Mary run the Club, it will be a big wrench.

The first meeting of the Lunch Club next year will be on January 8th, anyone who would like to attend and needs help with transport should contact Lynne on 01989 768895.

Debbie added:?“I have not been able to attend the lunches as often as I would like due to work but now I am retired I will be able to join them as a volunteer in the future.
